I had the pleasure of participating in the Intuitive Modern Marketing panel with Chris Leising and Chris Ragognetti, facilitated by Susan Rylance. The hour together flew by, as the conversation had such engaging and magnetic energy fueled by the passion each leader brought to the table and the thoughtful questions posed.
Here are a few insightful takeaways about Modern Marketing Leadership:
1. Modern Marketing leaders know that all teams must learn to speak the language of the business. Anchoring our work to the business strategy and goals ensures that our teams know their role in supporting these enterprise goals. We align on a common language utilized across the organization, allowing for clarity for each team and individual associates to understand how their work contributes to the organizational success.
2. Modern Marketing leaders sign up for shared revenue goals. Marketing is not just an expense for an organization; it contributes measurable revenue. When marketing and sales teams align on shared goals, they work together as a cohesive unit, driving revenue and growth for the organization.
3. Modern Marketing needs alignment and solid strategic partnerships with leaders across the organization. The phrase “it takes a village” is relevant to modern marketing as there are dependencies on sales, data, tech, product, and finance teams to support the enterprise priorities and goals and clearly understand the cross-team dependencies. When the leaders are aligned, it helps the teams have alignment, which can help them run like a symphony instead of individual songs.
4. Modern Marketing leaders continually champion having the voice of the customer at the heart of conversations. They understand how to tell customer stories, which allows for greater empathy and understanding of customer journeys and needs. These stories help shape investments and enhancements to the overall customer experience that deepen customer relationships and increase the share of wallet.
If you’re struggling to align with your peers and partners in the categories above, reach out, as we’d love to see how Intuitive could assist you with strategic marketing leadership support that truly transforms organizations.
